ENG (Electronystagmogram) A diagnostic test used to evaluate the balance function of the inner ear by measuring the patterns of nystagmus. Electrodes are attached to the forehead to record the movement of the eyes, which helps to determine the origin of your balance dysfunction. The test irrigates cool then warm water (or air) in the ear canal, in addition to changing the position of your head. It is normal to feel dizzy or nausea during this test. (When scheduled to take this test please do not eat at least 4 hours prior to your visit) |
